An update about Skylark v1

Hi everyone. We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting the next release of Skylark. So we wanted to give you an update: the next major release — Skylark V1 — will not be publicly available this year.

That is because we are currently testing it on a small number of pilot projects with selected delivery partners. This phase is essential to ensure the full library is robust and practical before a wider release.

Behind the scenes, we’re working hard on two major areas:

  • Digital infrastructure – refining tools and documentation to make future releases smoother, clearer, and more useful for everyone.
  • A commercial supplier network – developing a network of companies that can deliver WikiHouse parts and full builds professionally and at scale.

What does this mean for you?

  • If you’re a business already delivering WikiHouse projects, or ready to start – we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to become part of our network of commercial partners.
  • If you’re designing with WikiHouse – please continue using the current library.
  • If you’re exploring our design services to deliver a finished building – reach out. We’re growing our capacity to deliver projects, particularly within the UK.

Thanks for being part of the journey — and for your patience as we build something better together.

Thanks Mel, We got that. I will pass the link onto Hertzog Berger, Central CNC, and Adrien, from Mamet Homes ( WH design and Build), who would ideally like to see the V1 morph into a full external clad SIPP’s option. I have some Ideas to put to Clayton P. about an external clad for mainly upper level (2 Syorey) to save on scaffolding and B/B party walls in Town Houses. I will send thes hans sketches separarely.

Many thanks for the update. Just wondering: I noticed in Any news on Skylark 1.0? - #3 by Mel it says:

So we decided to take a step back and are currently developing a series of parametric scripts in Grasshopper to manage the creation of the blocks.

Are there plans to open source these parametric scripts?

Thanks again!

Hi there - thanks for asking. No, we don’t plan to make them available open source, we are simply developing them to enable easier version releases in future.
